FLETCHER'S MILL
SPERRYVILLE, VIRGINIA

A new residence and guest house are sited on a knoll overlooking a meadow that slopes gently down to the Thornton River. The compound formed by the two structures is the terminus of a long and level plateau flanked by woods, and of a new entry drive. From this vantage point, this new minimalist house of concrete, cedar, bluestone, copper, painted brick and steel windows features carefully framed views of the meadow, river, and three nearby mountain peaks.
